My interest in physiotherapy grew through sport and being active myself. Like everyone who trains and competes regularly, I experienced injuries along the way and became curious not just about how they happened, but why. That curiosity, combined with a genuine interest in helping people move and feel better, led me into physiotherapy.
I trained as a physiotherapist with experience across musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory and paediatric settings, which gave me a strong foundation in assessment, clinical reasoning and patient-centred care. Over time, I have found myself particularly drawn to sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, where I could help people return to the activities that matter most to them.
I currently work within rugby and regularly support active individuals with both acute injuries and longer-term pain problems. I value taking the time to understand each person’s goals, lifestyle and training demands, so rehabilitation is realistic, relevant and genuinely useful to the individual.

I believe good physiotherapy starts with listening. I aim to fully understand what is going on, what may be contributing to the problem, and what you want to get back to doing.
A big strength of my approach is explaining things clearly and in a way that makes sense, so patients feel informed and confident in their recovery. Together, we will decide on the most appropriate treatment options, which may include exercise-based rehabilitation, strength and conditioning principles, mobility work and hands-on techniques.
My focus is always on helping active people stay active. I want to help people build resilience, confidence and capacity so they can continue training, competing or moving well long-term.

Outside of work, staying active is a big part of my life. I train regularly in the gym and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which gives me a real appreciation of the physical and mental demands of sport and training.
When I’m not training, I enjoy playing guitar, reading, and getting outdoors walking my dogs. These interests help keep me balanced and grounded, and they shape the calm, practical and supportive way I approach my work with patients.

Testimonials
"The physiotherapy service I’ve received at Physio Art from Ruth has been absolutely life changing. I’ve never been stronger, more mobile or more aware of my own body. The exercises in the app have been easy to follow and remember, and more importantly I’ve been able to step down from more invasive treatment for my back and get back to work."

"Sophie has helped me rehab a long standing shoulder issue resulting from overuse of playing tennis and other racket sports. She was quick to identify the condition, gave an accurate timeline of recovery and helped my put in place various exercises over the next few months to get to a state where I can exercise and play sports free of the pain again. I'd highly recommend Sophie and Physio Art."

"There is nowhere else I would go than Physio Art. My 11-year old son had an emergency appointment with Adhip for a very painful lower leg and he was absolutely brilliant. His knowledge and advice was excellent and the results began to show during the appointment. Every physio we have seen there has been highly professional, incredibly helpful and so kind. "

"I have complete trust in Sarah whom I have seen on a number of occasions for different problems. She always listens intently and delves deep into my experience so I feel completely confident in the course of treatment she recommends. I love that she is so good at explaining what is affecting the problem and often there is more at play than just the mechanics of the body. Any consultation with Sarah is fascinating as well as healing!"
