Adhip Nadkarni

From a young age, my passion for football and sports led me to actively participate in physical activities. However, I would always end up with some injuries. This led me to seek solutions for my pains and aches on the internet, where I came across the profession of physiotherapy. The “how” and “why” behind the injuries really fascinated me, and that’s when I decided that I wanted to become a skilled physiotherapist and help others.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I found myself drawn to subjects like biomechanics, exercise therapy, and orthopaedics. I knew then that I wanted to work in a musculoskeletal/sports setup. Following my graduation, I started working at a sports and orthopaedic clinic, as well as with an U18 local football team. Here, I gained plenty of experience and realized that there are many nuances in the field.
Being the curious person that I am, I decided to pursue my master’s in exercise and sports medicine (Football) at the University of Birmingham, which is currently ongoing. My goal is to give my best to each patient I come across and help them achieve their goals.

I always try to understand the person’s problem and identify the possible factors causing the issue. Once I have done that, my strength lies in explaining what is going on. Together with the patient, we can decide on various treatment options such as manual therapy, strengthening, stretching, and other forms of exercises, along with healthy lifestyle changes. Based on our discussion, I formulate a suitable rehab program that the patient can follow to achieve their goals.

I love the outdoors and staying active by working out at the gym. I am always up for a football match, tracking, cycling, or a run! In addition to outdoor activities, I enjoy cooking healthy recipes and learning random things about nutrition. For example, if you expose mushrooms to sunlight before cooking, it increases their vitamin D content!

  • Testimonials

"The physiotherapy service I’ve received at Physio Art from Ruth has been absolutely life changing. I’ve never been stronger, more mobile or more aware of my own body. The exercises in the app have been easy to follow and remember, and more importantly I’ve been able to step down from more invasive treatment for my back and get back to work."

    KATY WILLITTS

  • Testimonials

"Sophie has helped me rehab a long standing shoulder issue resulting from overuse of playing tennis and other racket sports. She was quick to identify the condition, gave an accurate timeline of recovery and helped my put in place various exercises over the next few months to get to a state where I can exercise and play sports free of the pain again. I'd highly recommend Sophie and Physio Art."

His knowledge and advice was excellent and the results began to show during the appointment. Every physio we have seen there has been highly professional, incredibly helpful and so kind. "

She always listens intently and delves deep into my experience so I feel completely confident in the course of treatment she recommends. I love that she is so good at explaining what is affecting the problem and often there is more at play than just the mechanics of the body. Any consultation with Sarah is fascinating as well as healing!"
