What Can I Expect From a Physio Assessment at Home?
Your physiotherapist will complete an initial assessment in your home, which lasts up to 1 hour. During this, they will talk to you about your symptoms, discuss what you are struggling with and what you are hoping to get from therapy, and set some rehab goals with you. Whether you want to focus on strengthening muscles, improving balance, building confidence with a certain task, walking with less support – we tailor the sessions to your requirements.
If required, they can assess your home environment and advise on equipment that you might consider, to make it easier to get around the home. They will assess your movement, strength and balance, depending what is required, to get a better picture of your abilities. They will usually give you some advice and exercises to get started with, to help you towards improving or managing your symptoms.
You are much more likely to achieve your goals if you practice these exercises as often as the therapist recommends (usually every day).

How Often Will I be Seen?
Sessions can be 30 mins or 1 hour long. Arrival of the therapist will usually be within a 30 minute window, to allow for travel to your home. Most people benefit from being seen weekly for a time, in order to see the most progress with their therapy.
Seeing a physiotherapist regularly will help keep you on track to achieving your goals and motivate you to keep practicing your exercises between sessions. However your therapist will discuss with you what they recommend, based on their expertise, and agree with a frequency of sessions and length of time that suits you and best meets your goals.
As you make progress and become confident with your exercises, the frequency of sessions may be reduced, giving you the confidence to start to self-manage your condition.

Testimonials
"The physiotherapy service I’ve received at Physio Art from Ruth has been absolutely life changing. I’ve never been stronger, more mobile or more aware of my own body. The exercises in the app have been easy to follow and remember, and more importantly I’ve been able to step down from more invasive treatment for my back and get back to work."

Testimonials
"Sophie has helped me rehab a long standing shoulder issue resulting from overuse of playing tennis and other racket sports. She was quick to identify the condition, gave an accurate timeline of recovery and helped my put in place various exercises over the next few months to get to a state where I can exercise and play sports free of the pain again. I'd highly recommend Sophie and Physio Art."

His knowledge and advice was excellent and the results began to show during the appointment. Every physio we have seen there has been highly professional, incredibly helpful and so kind. "

She always listens intently and delves deep into my experience so I feel completely confident in the course of treatment she recommends. I love that she is so good at explaining what is affecting the problem and often there is more at play than just the mechanics of the body. Any consultation with Sarah is fascinating as well as healing!"
